Local image processing
All image compression, resizing, and conversion happens locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly. Your images are never uploaded to a server.
We have no backend infrastructure that receives image bytes, filenames, EXIF metadata, or pixel data. You can verify this in your browser's Network panel during a compression session — no requests carry your image content.
What we do not collect
Your images, filenames, or pixel data.
EXIF metadata, GPS coordinates, or camera information.
Account information (there are no accounts).
Email addresses or contact details.
Payment information (the tool is free).
What we may collect
We may use anonymous analytics to understand which features are used and to fix bugs. This is limited to browser type and version, output format selected, bucketed image counts and sizes, and which features were used.
No analytics events ever include image content, filenames, or EXIF data.
Cookies
PicsFit does not set tracking cookies. The site uses localStorage only to remember your last-used compression settings on your own device.
Service worker and offline
The site installs a service worker so it can work offline and cache the WebAssembly compressors. The cache only contains the app's own static files, never images you process.
Future cloud features
If we ever introduce optional cloud-based features (for example, for very large files), they will be clearly labeled, opt-in only, and disclosed in this policy at that time. The default tool will always remain local-only.
